Embracing the plant-based lifestyle in Malaysia

Eco-friendly Toothpaste

Eco-friendly Toothpaste

Being a plant-based lifestyle advocate has made me a lot more conscious about the products I put on and in my body. What kind of funky chemicals am I absorbing, and would they affect me in the long run? As a kid, I had to constantly battle the urge of swallowing my toothpaste. Who knows what may have happened had I succumbed? Apart from perpetually reeking of peppermint, perhaps suffering the effects of fluoride toxicity? (Yes, it actually exists.)

Since discovering the joy of making my own toothpaste a year ago, I’ve saved that little bit more money, and I’ve been reducing my rubbish too, since toothpaste tubes aren’t recyclable.

Since making this video, I’ve been adding charcoal powder to my paste, which naturally whitens teeth. So far, so good!

Enjoy watching, and let me know what your own experiences are with making your own toothpaste!
