Embracing the plant-based lifestyle in Malaysia

Cafe Scouting: Welcome Vegetarian Cafe

Cafe Scouting: Welcome Vegetarian Cafe

With its peculiar but charming name, Welcome Vegetarian specializes in ‘Chap Fan’ (pronounced Ch-ah-p F-ah-n), or ‘Mixed Rice’, a self-service dining concept where you are given a plate of rice, and you line up along a row of dishes, picking whatever you wish to go with your rice, and paying at the cashier located at the end of the line.

I’ve taken many non-vegetarian friends here and every one of them has loved the food so far, so I reckon this is a good cafe to start plant-based cafe scouting with in the Klang Valley.

HOWEVER.

I wasn’t aware until after I made the video, that this cafe uses MSG (Monosodium Glutamate). If this is an issue, please avoid this cafe. If it is not, then it’s worth visiting, although perhaps not on a regular basis!
